Blue lotus in every blend.
Blue Lotus, Nymphaea caerulea, is the flower the whole Stillness world is built around. Soft, floral, faintly honeyed, with petals in soft blue, periwinkle, and blue-lavender around a golden center. Every Botanicals blend is built on it, then given its own character: Sleep is deeper and more calming, Uplift is brighter and more refreshing, Unwind is soft, mellow, and relaxing.
Know your botanical
What we mean by Blue Lotus
Not everything sold as “Blue Lotus” is the same plant. The botanical used in the Stillness collection is identified as Nymphaea caerulea, commonly known as Egyptian Blue Lotus, Egyptian Blue Water Lily, or Sacred Blue Lily of the Nile. Because common names are often used inconsistently, we identify Blue Lotus by its botanical name whenever possible.
- Botanical name: Nymphaea caerulea.
- Botanically a water lily, not a true lotus.
- Strongly associated with ancient Egypt and the Nile; the species matters more than the country it was grown in.
- Fresh flowers are typically soft blue, periwinkle, blue-lavender, or pale violet-blue with a yellow-golden center.
- Dried flowers look more muted: lavender, dusty blue, purple-gray, tan, brownish-purple, and yellow tones.
